NLGJA 2026 National Convention

Aaron Waisler is an assignment editor with about 7 years of experience. I am now working for NBC affiliate 11Alive here in Atlanta. Prior to that, I spent 2 and a half years in Dallas as an Assignment Editor at CBS News Texas (CBS O&O) working the overnight/AM shift. During my time in Dallas, I was a regular volunteer at Resource Center (a non-profit geared toward providing the LGBTQIA+ community with vital goods and services, including healthcare, HIV and STD prevention, mental health counseling, social groups, food pantry, etc). I loved my time at the Resource Center and would be interested in assisting with similar groups/organizations here in the ATL!

I started my television career in Baton Rouge, Louisiana working for the Nexstar-owned NBC/Fox dual affiliates as a dayside assignment editor (the only one, period - that's how small the Baton Rouge market is!!).

Prior to my three television stops, I worked in radio for the traffic reporting subsidiary of iHeartMedia, as a producer. There, I wore many hats including researcher, helicopter videographer, television graphics operator, etc.

This will be my first NLGJA conference - I am so looking forward to meeting new like-minded people in the journalism arena! Excited to meet you!
