About me
Kevin Wong (he/him) is the Chief Communications Officer for The Trevor Project, the leading suicide prevention organization for LGBTQ+ young people.
Kevin serves on the Executive Team and oversees organizational storytelling, media relations, executive communications, brand positioning, internal communications, celebrity & influencer engagement, and more. He works alongside the Communications team to promote the organization’s mission, programs, and impact, and to strengthen trust across internal and external audiences.
His team’s work has been honored by Fast Company’s Brands That Matter Awards, Adweek’s Brand Genius Award, PR Daily’s Social Media & Digital Awards for Brand Awareness and as Communications Team of the Year, and more.
He also worked on iHeartMedia’s Communications & Marketing team, where he promoted iHeartRadio’s social impact initiatives, marquee music festivals, streaming music app, B2B and nonprofit partnerships, and more than 850 radio stations nationwide. He also served as the PR Manager at Six Flags Great Adventure.
Kevin volunteers on PRSA-NY’s Board of Directors, CUNY’s LGBTQI+ Advisory Council, CUNY’s Mixner LGBTQ+ Equal Rights Fellowship as a mentor, and as an awards judge for the Halo Awards, GLAAD Media Awards, PRWeek Awards US, and PRWeek Healthcare Awards. He was recognized by PRWeek’s 40 Under 40 list, PRSA-NY with the President’s Award and as a Top 10 LGBTQ PR Leader, PR News as a Social Impact Pioneer, PR Daily as the Nonprofit Communications Professional of the Year, and Muck Rack as a Top PR Person to Follow.
