About me
Claire Savage is a Chicago-based national reporter for the Associated Press's Business team covering issues impacting women in the workforce. Her reporting focuses on workplace discrimination, civil rights, gender equality in the workforce, and how policy affects working women and LGBTQ+ people.
In September 2025, she published a deeply reported, compelling account of transgender federal employees’ fear, grief, frustration, and distress working for an employer that rejects their identity, pulling back the curtain on an escalating legal and cultural battleground taking place inside the nation’s largest workforce.
She holds a master’s degree in international journalism from American University and a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and international business from Washington University in St. Louis.
