About me
Over his decades-long newspaper career, Eric Hegedüs has thrived by juggling a wide range of skill sets. In June 2026, Eric left the newsroom of the New York Post after a 20-year, 10-month (but who’s counting?) stint there, bowing out as deputy lifestyle editor after roles as associate digital entertainment editor, web content builder and print page designer. During that time, he chatted up celebs including RuPaul, Katherine O’Hara, Kylie Minogue, Wanda Sykes, Michelle Yeoh, Matt Bomer, Rachel Maddow, Taraji P. Henson, Kevin Bacon, Patti LaBelle, Neil Patrick Harris, Kathy Griffin, and many more. Before that, Eric was a designer and photo editor at The Philadelphia Inquirer, as well as a photo director and photographer for several Gannett publications. Eric is a past national president, former at-large board member and past chapter president of NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ+ Journalists and currently serves as chairman of Headlines and Headliners, the organization’s NYC fundraiser benefit. Eric is a longtime “Star Trek” devotee and a de facto admiral of the (unofficial) NLGJA Star Trek Fan Club.
