About me
George Bodarky is a reporter trainer on the NPR Training team. Before joining NPR, he served as the Community Partnerships & Training Editor at WNYC, where he built a comprehensive newsroom training program and coached scores of reporters, hosts, editors, and producers on voicing, writing, sourcing, interviewing, and sound gathering. Bodarky spent more than two decades overseeing and producing news and public affairs programming at WFUV-FM, an NPR affiliate based in the Bronx. While there, he created and led a nationally acclaimed training program for aspiring multimedia journalists and hosted the award-winning weekly show Cityscape, which spotlighted the people, places, and spirit of New York City. Bodarky is also an adjunct professor of journalism at Fordham University and the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY. Known for his expertise in vocal performance coaching and newsroom training, Bodarky has led workshops in newsrooms and at conferences across the country.
